Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. It is a bit of a mystery as the West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar of its purpose. Many people believe that it's an island located west of Montreal however it is actually a part of the city. West Island encompasses everything between the two cities in Lachine as well as West. Many times, it is credited as the birthplace of Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her time there was not long. Brugel grew to be a woman of a certain age in Courtice Ontario just outside Oshawa. Her initial ambition was to become an actress, but after a sudden expansion, she and her partner could no longer dance along with her. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed that in heels she was six feet and one inches tall. After I outgrew the male dancers, I decided to quit. Many former dancers turn into acting. In the case of Brugel, it was a suggestion from a high school drama teacher which led her in the right direction. It was the teacher who recommended she take on a part in the school's annual production. The audition was successful and she was chosen as Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program and earned the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. For the past twenty years, her roles on TV and the big screen have been varied. The role of Rita from the award winning series The Handmaid's Tale was her most famous. Brugel played the role of the character of Rita on The Handmaid's tale which was filmed over ten years ago.
